Fall

She shivers

Shakes loose last slivers

of lost summers

Frost and gloom cometh

with unforgiving wind

Stripping bare things she needs

Deeds of spring

and echoes of seasons efforts

further freezing as false feathers

flutter, fail, fall

to blanket stone wall beneath

‘So long’ she will call

to last, lost, lonely leaf
