A woman in a bar with a gun in her purse

It was a boozy night

A two-bit choosy shoots accusatory glances

at floozies handing out expensive dances

to the loneliest hearts with the loosest wallets

A truce, they called it

Glasnost between the broke and the lost

choosing at last to wash off the frost

and call it what it is:

A little pop and fizz

this is business, minister

There is no sinister subtext

Perplexed, vexed vixen vanquishes verisimilitude

with vodka tonics and Voltaire attitude

She stands nude

Unusually prudish amidst the

crude and unusual mood-swinging rude swingers

swimming in piss and vinegar

A blown kiss

Fingered trigger, stiff wrist

A sigh, a snigger

Last sip, cigarette

Time to forget

We’ll return again tomorrow…
